The wording on the opening credits was changed in this episode and "Latter Day Robin Hoods" became "Kansas Cousins" from this episode onwards.

Filming on the next episode (The Biggest Game in the West) was incomplete at the time of Pete Duel's death on 31st December 1971.  Within days, Roger Davis was brought in as his replacement and this episode was re-shot with Davis playing Heyes.  The remaining five episodes of the second season were completed.  The show was then renewed for a third season but only twelve episodes of this were filmed before it was cancelled mid-third season.
